Classroom Activities—Passport to Explore

Increase students' awareness of the world with this passport activity. After they prepare their passports, encourage students to find countries on a globe and record them in their passports.

Materials:

  • Westcott 5” Kids scissors
  • globe
  • 6" x 9" construction paper rectangle (cover)
  • 5 1/2" x 8" white paper rectangle
  • construction paper scraps
  • stapler
  • glue
  • markers (or crayons)

Step 1
Stack the white paper on the cover and fold to make a booklet. Staple the booklet together.

Step 2
Cut an oval from a paper scrap and label it "Passport." Glue the oval to the front cover. Decorate it.

Step 3
For page 1, use markers and paper scraps to create a self-portrait. Write your name, address, and phone number on page 2.

Step 4
Find countries on the globe. Write them on pages 3 and 4; cut paper scraps to resemble the outline of the countries and glue them next to their names. Then research an interesting fact about each country and write it in your booklet.

Adult supervision is recommended when children use scissors.
